Manchester City Thrash Real Madrid to Reach Champions League Semis

Silva Double Puts Citizens in Control

Manchester City produced a stunning performance to thrash Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday night. Bernardo Silva scored a first-half double to give City a comfortable lead, before Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez added further goals in the second half.

City Dominate from the Start

City were dominant from the start and took the lead in the 11th minute when Silva curled a beautiful shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. The Portuguese midfielder doubled his tally just 10 minutes later, firing home from close range after a flowing move involving Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.

Real Madrid struggled to create any clear-cut chances in the first half, and City continued to control the game after the break. Foden made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute with a clinical finish from inside the box, before Mahrez added a fourth in the 89th minute to seal a memorable victory.

Madrid's Disappointing Night

It was a disappointing night for Real Madrid, who were outplayed by a superior City side. The Spanish giants failed to register a single shot on target in the first half, and were unable to create any meaningful chances in the second half.

City, meanwhile, were excellent throughout the game. They were well-organized in defense, and their attacking players were in inspired form. Silva, De Bruyne, and Sterling were all outstanding, and they will be confident of going all the way in this season's Champions League.
