Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect Bobby Miller was scratched from his scheduled Triple-A start with Oklahoma City on Thursday night, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.

Miller May Be Needed for Coverage in MLB

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports that Miller is being held back in case the Dodgers need coverage this weekend. The Dodgers have a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday against the San Diego Padres and a series finale on Sunday.

Miller Has Impressed in Triple-A

Miller, 23, has been one of the most impressive pitchers in the minors this season. In 10 starts for Oklahoma City, he has a 2.92 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 52.1 innings.

• Miller was ranked as the Dodgers' No. 1 prospect by MLB Pipeline prior to the 2023 season.
• He made his MLB debut last year, appearing in six games for the Dodgers.
• Miller is expected to be a key part of the Dodgers' rotation in the future.

The Dodgers have a number of injuries in their starting rotation, including Andrew Heaney (shoulder) and Dustin May (back). If Miller is needed in the majors this weekend, he could make his first start of the season.
